Flights
Nairobi has international scheduled flights served by Ethiopian Airlines, British Airways, South African Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Swiss Air, KLM, Egypt Air, Emirates, Saudia and Kenya Airways. Regional flights are also served by Fly540, Precision Air, East African, Air Uganda and 1time (South Africa).

Accommodation
There is a good range of quality and prices but being a festive season, kindly make your booking arrangements well in advance. If you need suggestions and further advice contact us at Purple Images>>

Local Transport
Taxis from the airport can cost up to US$15. Taxis anywhere within town up to US$5. Local people travel around in shared minibuses - called "matatus". They tend to leave once they are full and stop often to drop and pick passengers. They are not the quickest, but are quite affordable and present an opportunity for a different travel experience.

Festival Location
The main festival venue is at Kenyatta International Conference Center- an easy walking distance, in the heart of Nairobi City.

Visas
The requirements and rules regarding visas vary according to your nationality and country of residence. Please check well in advance.

What to Bring
In December, Nairobi can be hot and sunny. Think about sun protection (sunglasses, sun cream and loose baggy clothes). Bring your camera - and any special batteries. Town power is 240v and mostly square pin sockets (like UK). Internet and CD burning is widely available.

Some restaurants and hotels have WiFi – “hot spot' so you might consider bringing a laptop.

Safety & Security
Nairobi is a peaceful city with very few security incidents. However, it is in the best interest of all visitors to "wise-up" on a few simple "dos and don'ts".
Ø Please avoid walking around with more valuables than you need, especially late at night.
Ø Please consider the consequences of provocative behavior and dress in public places. What may be quite "normal" in some cultures may invite attention or cause offence in others.
