Event Brief The festival will provide a rich, inclusive and challenging forum for reflective practitioners to celebrate their creative richness; critically and deeply engage; dream and act jointly in producing alternative cultural and dance products and in shaping new narratives of just peace. The conference and festival will bring together over 1000 committed artistes-peace builders; including educators, dance artists, development workers, community animators and cultural activists – from Africa and the diaspora who continue to apply various shades of dance arts approaches in their social change work. The one week intensive program will encompass applied training, performances, exhibitions, and direct skills-building. Various Artistic groups, producers, choreographers development workers, cultural activists and teachers from Africa and other parts of the world will participate in the festival and workshops that will not only impart skills in dance for peace and development but will celebrate the use of dance as a tool for social change and development in Africa. This could be another front for promoting a United States of Africa for the purposes of peace, prosperity and development. Background The main aim of The All Africa Dance Conference and Festival is to bring people together to celebrate the wealth and diversity of African dance. A majority of groups participating are from the African region, with some visiting artists from other parts of the world. Groups from Norway, India, Sweden, Italy, Netherlands, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Denmark, Sudan, United States of America, France, Congo, Spain, Ghana, United Kingdom, Nigeria, Guinea Bissau, Sierra Leone and Brazil are among countries that have confirmed their participation. The All Africa Dance Festival will establish itself as Africa's leading music and dance festival. It's the event to unite people while celebrating Africa!
